Unlocking scale in digital assets: the case for common standards

Institutional adoption of digital assets is growing. Yet, progress remains uneven: fragmented models, inconsistent data definitions, and lack of interoperability continue to limit scalability across platforms and ecosystems. This panel will explore how standardisation can act as the connective tissue of the digital asset landscape—bridging traditional financial infrastructures with on-chain environments. We will examine where meaningful progress is being made, from industry-led initiatives to the evolution of ISO standards, and where practical challenges persist.Beyond the “why”, the discussion will focus on the “how”: how to move from conceptual alignment to operational standards, how to balance innovation with consistency, and how collaboration across stakeholders—market infrastructures, financial institutions, and technology providers—can accelerate convergence. The session will also look ahead at the role of shared platforms and industry forums as catalysts for co-creation, testing, and scaling standardised approaches in real-world use cases.
