AI in post-trade operations: readiness, governance and control ahead of T+1
- Technology
- Data
The US moved to T+1 in May 2024. October 2027 will bring the same reality to EU markets – less time to process, investigate, and resolve across workflows that are already under pressure. At the same time, AI is becoming a bigger focus for operations teams, but the conversation is no longer just about efficiency. Firms are now asking how AI can be introduced safely – with the transparency, oversight, and governance needed for regulated environments.
This session will examine where AI is already embedded in production workflows, where firms are right to move carefully, and what control frameworks are needed to scale responsibly.
The session will cover:
-
The operational impact of T+1 and what it means for AI readiness in EU markets.
-
AI use cases already running in post-trade operations, and where human oversight remains non-negotiable.
-
Governance and control frameworks for deploying AI in regulated workflows.
-
The role of the middle office in surfacing operational risk early before it reaches settlement.
-
What firms already deploying AI in production got right, got wrong, and would do differently.
